"Pilgrimage is a journey of risk and renewal. For a journey without challenge has no meaning; one without purpose has no soul."
India: Soul of India Tour March 1 – 15.
Pre Tour Extension: Nepal Feb 23 - 28
Extension: Amritsar Dharamsala March 15 – 21, 2009
We'll
visit some of the most powerful sacred sites in Northern India where
palpable divine energy resides. For an unforgettable two weeks the familiar
world will part so that a deeper reality can emerge as we immerse ourselves
in ancient spiritual traditions, sacred architecture, primeval landscapes
bathed in supernal light, a feast of color, fragrance, and sacred sound,
and the beautiful peoples that are India. Sharing group meditations,
orientations by skilled Indian guides, lively discussions, sacred rituals,
and metaphysical explanations of the many gods and goddesses in Indian
mythology with Sheena, our visionary tour organizer, this will be
a unique opportunity to deepen your spiritual life in the company of
fellow travelers.
“I am organizing
this unique pilgrimage keeping some of the festivals in mind.
You will be in Jaipur for the Annual Holi Festival – the festival
of colour and the Elephant Festival to witness an impressive procession
of the majestic elephants lovingly painted and attired with glittering
attire. Khajuraho is the place where the Kama Sutra temples are.
There are two Extension Tours being offered, pre-tour to Nepal and post-tour
to Amritsar and Dharamsala. In Nepal we will be visiting the sacred
sites mainly of the Buddhists with the highlight being an overnight
stay in Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha. In the post Extension
tour we will be visiting the Golden Temple in Amritsar and we shall
also travel to Dharamsala to experience the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan
community there. I am planning for you to experience some aspects
of ancient yogic practices and introduce you to the many aspects of
the gods and goddesses who make up the psyche of the Indian people.
You will be enriched in understanding the spiritual background of India,
its people, and its great tradition. You are not going to forget
this pilgrimage – this I can promise you.”
